Develer began its journey in 2019 in Istanbul, starting with Niko Doğu on melodic percussion, Naci Oğuz on guitar, and Muaz Ceyhan on tanbur. Over time, they were joined by Esmani Kılıç (percussion), Mert Can Dursun (piano), Kerem Duru (drums), Salih Eren Kurç (bass guitar), and Cenk Bonfil (piano), forming the current lineup. In 2021, the group collaborated with Mehmet Ali Şimayli, Cenk Esen, Anıl Deniz, and Yiğit Can Öztop, resulting in the release of their Sanatorium EP. In 2024, Develer released its debut album Fauna, composed mostly of tracks that emerged from rehearsals or live improvisations. Two of the album's tracks were accompanied by the Orphe Chamber Choir, both in the studio and during the album's launch concert at Babylon. Develer, whose roots are firmly planted in the soil of its origins, has never hesitated to extend its branches beyond the horizon, both in terms of instrumentation, genre, and emotional expression throughout its journey. Embracing the unity of its internal differences, the band fearlessly explores new and unknown possibilities, speaking its truth in the here and now, beyond the confines of time.
